I won the Tate Collective x Jack Arts Billboard competition in August 2020.
The brief set was to respond to an original artwork on exhibit at Tate. Tate Collective provided the choice of paintings and I decided that 'Ophelia' worked the best for me. I created the image seen below which I now am selling prints of - donating a proportion of sales made to charity.
I decided to create a modern day alternate version of Ophelia, a woman of colour who has learned how to cope with traumas. She is a master of self care who takes day trips to cities and stays at hotels. She is pictured here at a hotel daydreaming about how she would decorate her own future bathroom (once she can afford to have a property in London).
